【摘要】:Staticsealfailuresarepredominatelyduetoincompatibilitywithmedia,degradationbytemperatureextremes,andextrusionstress.Thistestmethodmaybeusedforrelativeperformanceevaluationscreening,andisnormallythesecondstageofthescreeningprocessafterimmersiontestinginaccordancewithTestMethodE1068.Thistestmethodshowsrelativeperformanceofmaterialsunderthecombinedeffectsoftemperature,pressure,andextrusionstress.Itdoesnotnecessarilycorrelatewithactualserviceconditions.Thistestmethodisnotintendedtoincludetheeffectoftestmedia.Avarietyoftestparametercombinationsareprovidedsothatevaluationscanbemadeforaspecificapplication.Thistestmethodusesstandardo-ringsastestspecimens.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheinitialevaluationof(screening)polymericmaterialsforsealsunderstaticsealingstressandatelevatedtemperatures.1.2ThistestmethodappliestogeothermalserviceonlyifusedinconjunctionwithTestMethodE1068.1.3Thetestfluidisdistilledwater.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
