【摘要】:Duringtheprocessofcalibrationofaground-waterflowmodel,eachsimulationiscomparedtosite-specificinformationtoascertainthesuccessofpreviouscalibrationeffortsandtoidentifypotentiallybeneficialdirectionsforfurthercalibrationefforts.Proceduresdescribedhereinprovideguidanceformakingcomparisonsbetweenground-waterflowmodelsimulationsandmeasuredfielddata.Thisguideisnotmeanttobeaninflexibledescriptionoftechniquescomparingsimulationswithmeasureddata;othertechniquesmaybeappliedasappropriateand,afterdueconsideration,someofthetechniqueshereinmaybeomitted,altered,orenhanced.1.1Thisguidecoverstechniquesthatshouldbeusedtocomparetheresultsofground-waterflowmodelsimulationstomeasuredfielddataasapartoftheprocessofcalibratingaground-watermodel.Thiscomparisonproducesquantitativeandqualitativemeasuresofthedegreeofcorrespondencebetweenthesimulationandsite-specificinformationrelatedtothephysicalhydrogeologicsystem.1.2Duringtheprocessofcalibrationofaground-waterflowmodel,eachsimulationiscomparedtosite-specificinformationsuchasmeasuredwaterlevelsorflowrates.Thedegreeofcorrespondencebetweenthesimulationandthephysicalhydrogeologicsystemcanthenbecomparedtothatforprevioussimulationstoascertainthesuccessofpreviouscalibrationeffortsandtoidentifypotentiallybeneficialdirectionsforfurthercalibrationefforts.1.3Bynecessity,allknowledgeofasiteisderivedfromobservations.Thisguidedoesnotaddresstheadequacyofanysetofobservationsforcharacterizingasite.1.4Thisguidedoesnotestablishcriteriaforsuccessfulcalibration,nordoesitdescribetechniquesforestablishingsuchcriteria,nordoesitdescribetechniquesforachievingsuccessfulcalibration.1.5Thisguideiswrittenforcomparingtheresultsofnumericalground-waterflowmodelswithobservedsite-specificinformation.However,thesetechniquescouldbeappliedtoothertypesofground-waterrelatedmodels,suchasanalyticalmodels,multiphaseflowmodels,noncontinuum(karstorfractureflow)models,ormasstransportmodels.1.6Thisguideisoneofaseriesofguidesonground-watermodelingcodes(software)andtheirapplications.Otherstandardshavebeenpreparedonenvironmentalmodeling,suchasPracticeE978.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.8Thisguideoffersanorganizedcollectionofinformationoraseriesofoptionsanddoesnotrecommendaspecificcourseofaction.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthisguidemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject''smanyuniqueaspects.Thewordx201C;Standardx201D;inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.
